Writing often seems simple until you actually sit down to start. Sometimes inspiration flows, and sometimes it doesn’t—we’ve all wrestled with the challenge of writer’s block. Before fully grasping what it means, I decided to try it on my own. Here’s my trial blog, born from the same struggle, with a little grammar help from AI 😅

Okay, so you're staring at a blank screen, the cursor blinking like a judgmental eye.
Don't panic.
We've all been there.
Writer's block is real, and it's brutal. But guess what? You're not alone. And you don't have to let it win.
Here's the thing: inspiration isn't some mystical force that strikes randomly. You gotta hunt it down.
Think of it like a game.
First, shake things up. Bump into a stranger, eavesdrop on a conversation, visit a creepy abandoned building. Anything to jolt you out of your routine.
Next, play "what if." What if animals could talk? What if time travel was a real thing? Let your imagination run wild.
Don't forget your senses. Describe the taste of your favourite food in detail. Or the sound of rain on your window. You get the idea.
Create a character sketch. Give them a weird name and a crazy backstory. Make them interesting.
Find a news headline and twist it. Turn it into a sci-fi thriller, a heartwarming romance, whatever your vibe is.
Listen to a song and write about how it makes you feel.
Dig into your memories. That time you climbed a tree and almost fell? Yeah, write about that.
Keep a dream journal. Dreams are weird and wonderful. Use them as fuel for your stories.
Try "freewriting." Just write whatever comes to mind for 10 minutes. Don't worry about grammar, punctuation, or making sense.
Look up a new word daily and try to use it in your writing.
And finally, write about what you know.
Write about your experiences, your passions, your fears.
Those are the most authentic stories you can tell.
So there you have it.
15 prompts to kickstart your writing.
